Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
This policy explains what TheShipNow collects, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, whether you have confirmed it, and a securely hashed password. We never store the password itself. Verification codes are stored only in scrambled form and expire after 10 minutes.
- Profile details you choose to add: display name, country, store name, store link, niche and avatar colour. Some are filled with random placeholders when you sign up, and you can change them.
- Images you scan: stored for up to 15 minutes so our search providers can read them, then deleted. We keep a record that a scan happened and how many matches it found.
- Your chosen shipping country: used to show prices in your currency and estimate delivery times.
- Fraud prevention: to enforce the limit of 2 free scans per person, we store a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, a hashed device check made from technical browser and device settings (such as screen size, time zone and how your browser draws graphics), and a device cookie. We can't turn these hashes back into your IP address or identify you from them alone, and we use them only to stop free-scan abuse and fake sign-ups.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of which pack you bought, the amount and the date.
- Terms acceptance: the date and version of the Terms you agreed to.
- If you sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple: we receive your email address, first name and an account ID from that service, and nothing else. We never see your password for those services. Apple may give us a private relay email instead of your real one.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that run TheShipNow: Cloudflare (hosting and database), Apify and the marketplace-search tools running on it (image search), Google Cloud Vision (logo detection), Resend (sending verification and password-reset emails), Google, Facebook and Apple (only if you choose to sign in with them), Stripe (payments) and an exchange-rate provider (no personal data is sent to it). Some of these process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We don't sell your data and we don't use advertising trackers.
Cookies
We use two essential cookies: one keeps you logged in, and one identifies your device for the free-scan limit. We also keep your country choice and your most recent scan in your browser's own storage.
Keeping it
We keep account and purchase records while your account is open and as long as the law requires afterwards. Free-scan records are kept so the limit keeps working.
Your choices
You can see and edit your profile at any time on your profile page. To get a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account (see how to delete your data), email Theshipnow@gmail.com. If you're not happy with how we handled a privacy issue, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
